Inspired by the colours of a coastal walk, this larger brooch is made from copper with vitreous enamel.
Colours are added and fired in the kiln at approximately 800 degrees centigrade to produce a shiny, glass like surface with a unique pattern. The copper shows through at the bottom of the piece as part of the organic design.
Looking like an miniature impressionist painting, the brooch is enamelled on the back with clear enamel, allowing the copper to show through. The brooch fastens with a steel pin.
Not quite a square, measurements are approximately 6cm x 5.5cm
